Beer Menu

The beer list gives an overview of the unique and wonderful portfolio of Belgian beers, and an opportunity to discover the beer paradise that is Belgian. Reflecting the fantastic variety are: Stella Artois, the Belgian premium lager beer; Hoegaarden, the most popular Belgian white beer; Leffe Blonde or Brune (dark), a unique traditional abbey beer; different trappist beers and more.

Hoegaarden

World renowned as. "The best of the white beers". The Hoegaarden history starts around 1445 in the small village of the same name; following a secret recipe using the purest ingredients and locally grown wheat, the villagers developed the original unfiltered white beer. Light and refreshing beer with a slightly bitter and fruity taste, with a hint of coriander and curacao.

Leffe Blonde

Leffe is Belgian's original abbey beer, tracing it's origins back to the abbey of Leffe, founded in 1152. Inside the abbey, monks handcrafted their own beer according to the specific rules. In the 1800's abbey beers were beginning to be brewed outside the abbey wall, though the traditions and recipes were followed closely. Blond colour, made with clear malt and of medium strength.

Leffe Brune

Leffe dark, also an authentic abbey beer, is brewed with roasted malts to provide its full bodied, slightly fruity taste and its rich deep brown colour. Almost black robe, perfectly balanced taste, sweet and bitter, with an after taste of coffee. Both Leffe blonde and dark are served with a creamy head in a chalice-type glass, thus continuing the traditions of the abbey monks.

Stella Artois

Stella Artois is the world best selling Belgian beer, enjoyed in more than 80 countries around the world. A crafted brewing process uses traditionally malted barley and the finest hops, resulting in a premium lager with superior quality and a full, unique flavour. Stella Artois has a clear, pale golden colour with a fine, clean bitterness and a hint of citrus fruit.

Kriek

Kriek | 250ml $8.00

Belle-Vue Kriek is made by macerating fresh cherries in the lambic, giving a burgundy hue and a refreshingly fruity taste. Lambic, unlike other beers, derives from spontaneous fermentation of wort consisting of bread wheat, malt, water and ripe hops. Fermentation takes place exclusively in the Senne Valley, south-east of Brussels, the only place in the world where the wild yeast is found. Cherries are added to thefour month-old Lambic for further fermentation.

Kelly's Cider | 330ml $7.00

Kelly Brothers is a clear, sparkling cider with a high level of refreshment. Dryness coupled< with a cutting acidity provides the drinker with the unique impression of just biting into an< apple. This 100% apple juice cider is made with the finest apples from the Kellybrook Winery at the top of the Yarra Valley.

Artisan Beer

Around 850 different beers are made in Belgian and 20% of them by monks. The ancestral abbey beer recipes have been used as the base for artisan beers called "special" beers. Made by the expert brewers, these recipes are quite often handed down through the generations and have some evolution into modern style beers. Artisan beers are usually high fermentation beers.

Duvel

Duvel | 330ml $12.00

Originally, the Breendonck brewer used to give his brand new beer to the town baker to taste. "Devil" or Duvel in Antwerp province dialect...innocent and begulling at first, with a soft, light palate. A style unto itself.

Tripel Karmeliet

Tripel Karmeliet | 330ml $12.30

Blonde, robust, smooth and fruity "3 grains" beer with final fermentation in the bottle - the first brewed 1679. Brewed with pride and patience after the Karmeliet tradition using wheat, oats, and barley. 100% natural beer.

Kwak

Created in 1791 by Mr Pauwel Kwak, who owned a hotel in the small town of Brabant. His beer is famous all over the world, and has always been made with double high fermentation. Served in a wooden bracket and extravagant glass.

Bourgogne des Flandres Brunes

Bourgogne des Flandres Brune | 330ml $11.90

Born in Bruges at the beginning of the 20th century, the van Houtryve family has been keeping their eye on the brew for seven generations. The unique and very old brewing process is called 'infusion of lambic' this is the selection of the best lambic, and is mixed with high fermentation and aged in oak barrels for months leaving this a brown ale with a consistent head of foam.

Bourgogne des Flandres Blonde

Bourgogne des Flandres Blonde | 330ml $13.30

Dark alter ego reflects a great deal of peppery character, While the blonde variant produces a richly bitter cachet in the mouth from the sip, which quickly develop across the entire palate. Its marked bitterness slightly masks the reality of its alcohol content.

Gouden Carolus

Brewed since 1369 at Mechelen city in the North of Belgian and appreciated extensively by Charles V of Spain. Deep burgundy colour, creamy texture and malty aroma. Stored for six months to give a rich palate...Brewed for a King.

Gouden Carolus Ambrio

Gouden Carolus Ambrio | 330ml $12.80

Gouden Carolus Ambrio, is an 'amber' coloured beer, brewed with 'brio'. In the past, every town in Belgian had its own beer typical of the area. Ambrio has its roots in the traditional beer of Mechelen known as "Mechelschen Bruynen" or "Mechelen Brown".

DEUS Brut des Flandres

First brewed at Bosteels Brewery in Belgian, then transferred to the Champagne region of France where it is treated much like a champagne. The bottles are processed using traditional champagne vinification methods.

In 17th and 18th Centuries Piraat was a popular beer at sea because of its high nutritional value. Flavour of hops, spices and rich tropical fruit.

Boucanier Dark Ale

Boucanier Dark Ale | 330ml $12.80

Brewed at Evergem in the Belgian Flanders at the Ertvelde brewery. A traditional Belgian dark ale, energetic with a full-bodied taste with a sweet finish. It has a rich copper colour and is an unpasteurised beer, undergoing a further fermentation process in the bottle.

Judas

Judas 330ml | $12.90

Judas uses a mixture of hop varieties from Bohemia and other regions. Following fermentation the beer is quickly matured in the cellar until it has obtained its unique flavour. Judas undergoes a second fermentation after bottling. When it is poured into the typical cup-shaped drinking glass the beer develops a generous head. A strong ochre-coloured beer, bitter-sweet, mild and with a full, rounded flavour.

A prize winning beer developed with a relatively low alcohol content. A delightful hint of malt and spice with a sweet dry after taste.

Bush Amber

Bush Scaldis | 250ml $13.30

Created by Alfred Dubuisson in 1993, the caramel malt is used to give its amber colour and the resulting beer is a fine balance of bitter and sweet.

Trappiste - Controlled Appellation

A unique variety of beers, brewed by the Belgian Trappiste monks as part of their monastic life since the middle ages. It is thought that the craft was highly developed from the tradition of making full bodied beers that provided added sustenance to the monks during Lent.

Westmalle Tripel

Westmalle Tripel | 330ml $14.20

A mix of hops and Pilsener malts, chaptalised with pale candy sugar. Golden blond colour, fruity, complex, round and strong. Made at Westmalle, North of Belgian, a true "Delice"

Chimay Blanche

Golden colour, slightly hazy, a fine head with an aroma of fresh hops and yeast. Fruits of muscat and raisins complement the touch of bitterness. The beer is re-fermented in the bottle without any pasteurisation.

Made at Notre-Dame of scourmont (Hainaut province), probably the best known Trappiste in the world. La rouge (the Red) has a strong flavour, not too bitter with a beautiful "bouquet".

"The strong man Trappiste". Very strongly, full and spicy flavour, strong bitter. Made at Notre-Dame De Saint Remy, in the south of Belgian. A velvet-like hint of caramelised malt.

Orval

Made at Notre-Dame D'Orval. Dry and bitter and made with pure spring water, Le Gout d'Orval goes back to 1070. Immensely complex with an orange colour. A real discovery beer.

Gueuze

A beer with a long history and brewed toan original and traditional Brussels recipe. Conditioned in the bottle it is medium dry and fruity. Easy to drink and great with cheese.

Peche Lambic

Peche Lambic | 330ml $11.90

Is obtained by adding 100% natural peach juice to the lambic resting in oak barrels. The fruit itself is not added because the stone is too bitter and might change the taste of the beer.

Kriek

Saison silly is a blend of 2 beers. Blending beer is an art, Saison silly offers a rich and sweetish ale, with a syrupy maltiness, balanced by a distinctive wineyness and tartness.

White beer, top fermentaed, with a delicate flavouring of orange and coriander. Hazy pale blonde body which is not too fizzy with a white foamy head, and a refreshing taste.

Satan Gold has a round, fine taste with a touch of bitterness. The mixture of low coloured malts helps provide a spicy, complex taste on the palate.
